How Long Will the DJI Power 1000 Run a Space Heater?

Updated 2026-10-17 · Briefly

Only briefly: about 35 minutes. The DJI Power 1000 stores 1024Wh, and a space heater averages about 1500W. That covers about 7% of a typical 8-hour day.

The numbers

Battery capacity1024Wh (LFP)
Usable energy870Wh (85% via AC outlets)
Continuous AC output2200W
Surge rating4400W
Space heater running watts1500W
Startup watts1500W
Average draw1500W
Estimated runtime35 minutes
Energy per day of typical use12 kWh

1024Wh × 0.85 = 870Wh usable ÷ 1500W average = 0.6 hours

Recharging with solar

The DJI Power 1000 accepts up to 800W of solar input. In real conditions that harvests about 3 kWh on a sunny day (5 peak-sun hours), or about 750Wh with one 200W panel.

Solar can’t fully keep up. A space heater uses about 12 kWh a day at 8 hours of use, more than the DJI Power 1000’s best-case solar harvest. Solar will stretch the runtime but not sustain it.

Tips

  • Space heaters are the hardest load for a battery: 1,500W of continuous heat. The low setting (usually 750W) doubles runtime.
  • You’ll still have about 700W of AC capacity left for other devices at the same time, though they’ll share the same battery.
  • The DJI Power 1000 uses LiFePO4 (LFP) cells, rated for thousands of cycles, so running it down daily won’t wear it out quickly.

FAQ

Will the DJI Power 1000 run a space heater overnight?

No. At about 1500W average it runs out after 35 minutes. For a full night you need at least 14200Wh of capacity.

How long does the DJI Power 1000 take to recharge with solar?

With its maximum 800W of solar input it refills in about 1.7 hours of strong sun. With a single 200W panel, expect about 6.8 hours of full sun.
