Can the DJI Power 500 Run a Gas Furnace Blower?

Updated 2026-10-17 · Startup risk

Probably not reliably. Once running, a gas furnace blower draws about 600W, within the DJI Power 500’s 1000W rating. But its startup surge of roughly 1500W exceeds the station’s 1000W output limit, so the inverter is likely to trip the moment the motor starts. If it does start, it would run for about 1.5 hours.

Recharging with solar

The DJI Power 500 accepts up to 300W of solar input. In real conditions that harvests about 1.1 kWh on a sunny day (5 peak-sun hours), or about 750Wh with one 200W panel.

Solar can’t fully keep up. A gas furnace blower uses about 7.2 kWh a day at 24 hours of use, more than the DJI Power 500’s best-case solar harvest. Solar will stretch the runtime but not sustain it.

Tips

  • A gas furnace still needs electricity for its blower and igniter. Connecting one requires a transfer switch or an inlet installed by an electrician.
  • You’ll still have about 400W of AC capacity left for other devices at the same time, though they’ll share the same battery.
  • The DJI Power 500 uses LiFePO4 (LFP) cells, rated for thousands of cycles, so running it down daily won’t wear it out quickly.

FAQ

Will the DJI Power 500 run a gas furnace blower overnight?

No. At about 300W average it runs out after 1.5 hours. For a full night you need at least 2900Wh of capacity.

How long does the DJI Power 500 take to recharge with solar?

With its maximum 300W of solar input it refills in about 2.3 hours of strong sun. With a single 200W panel, expect about 3.4 hours of full sun.

Which power station can run a gas furnace blower?

The EcoFlow River 2 Pro (768Wh, 800W output) can, for about 2.2 hours. See the comparison table below for more options.
